Hello! I'm Molly, a lifelong Francophile with a passion for cooking (and eating). Here you'll find veggie-forward recipes that will make you look forward to each new season of the year.
In France, eating seasonally is a way of life. French markets and even grocery store chains sell almost exclusively in-season produce. While living in Paris for 3 years, I frequented French markets and cheese shops and enjoyed regular apèro hours at the café down the street. I took classes at Le Cordon Bleu and with the incomparable Kate Hill in Gascony. I was constantly inspired by the French respect for ingredients, and pride in their regional specialties.
Eating seasonally is the most responsible way to eat, as in-season, local ingredients do not travel many miles in an airplane before landing on your table. But I'm here to tell you eating seasonally is the most delicious way to eat as well. And here's a secret of French cuisine: because in-season ingredients are so very delicious, they need very little to turn them into a fantastic meal. Yes, there is formal French technique, but there are also many less complicated dishes that let their ingredients shine. This is the mindset with which I approach every recipe!
I earned my pastry chef certificate from the dearly-departed Tante Marie’s Cooking School in San Francisco, so you'll see some French baking technique in my recipes. But I also spent over 10 years as a personal chef, cooking weekly meals for busy families, special-occasion dinners for romantic couples, and fun party foods for celebratory gatherings. I taught classes in-person and over Zoom. And during that time, I perfected easy-to-make, crowd-pleasing recipes using the best ingredients available in the season.
So what will you find here? You'll find plenty of vegetarian and vegan recipes on my site, but I confess I am an omnivore. I stick mainly to seafood and chicken, as it seems almost unanimous that beef and lamb have the biggest environmental impacts. If I'm going to eat meat, the recipe has to be delicious—and I try to buy organic meat and support local farms wherever possible. I love cooking with pulses and whole grains too, which are both nutritious and pretty easy on our planet.
So join me as I embrace the spirit of French cuisine and share my favorite recipes—seasonal food that nourishes from the inside out. You’ll find recipes that are easy enough to pull together on a weeknight, and recipes elegant enough to entertain family and friends that don’t require long hours in the kitchen.
Then invite your family and friends to join you around the table. This is where the magic is. Bon Appétit! ❤️
